The Bergamot is a beautifully restored apartment, perfect for two but would accommodate four (good) friends set within a 1000 year old building with views over the Convent of San Francesco. ​

On arrival be greeted with a welcome hamper including homemade cake, bread, jams and freshly squeezed juices. All fresh, local and seasonal.  

Set predominantly on one level the apartment has a food lover's kitchen

– well equipped with Smeg oven, dishwasher and fridge, separate toilet with mother of pearl sink, clawfoot cast iron bath inset into a beautifully restored cave area within the main apartment area, dining area, sitting area with sofa bed and feature fireplace and mezzanine bedroom with double bed.

 

The apartment enjoys a balcony with low level slouchy seating, small table and chairs and truly stunning views. Step onto the larger terrace and you will find a dining area, firepit, barbeque and a host of aromatic citrus plants, such as bergamot, orange, figs, all of which can be enjoyed under a jasmine pergola. An idyllic place to sit back and enjoy the scents of the essential oils from the fruit, known for their powers to relax and uplift.

Please note visitors would benefit from hiring a small car in order to see the best of the surrounding area and to travel from the airport (taxis are not common). 

Cars can be parked in the piazza in Tursi, within walking distance and heavy luggage can be transported via Martine's tuk tuk. 

Please note the general area has some steep inclines (with the best views!).
